I am delighted you have found me. My name is Peter Hellsten I am a UK-qualified and registered, highly experienced psychodynamic counsellor/psychotherapist, having completed my training at the University of Edinburgh. My work in the helping professions spans more than 30 years in both, public and private sector organisations, with the last decade spent working in independent private practice as a therapist (www.peterhellsten.co.uk).  

 

Whilst I continue to provide online support to a small client base in the UK, and to operate a succesful therapeutic group practice in Edinburgh (www.aquietroom.co.uk). I now offer in-person therapeutic counselling and life coaching to English and German speaking adults  from my office in Tias, Lanzarote.  

 

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I practice within its ethical guidelines and standards framework. I am fully insured to provide therapeutic counselling and life coaching in the UK and Europe. 

 

I can offer support and guidance for a wide range of issues, including relationship difficulties, loss and bereavement, low mood, lack of direction and motivation, lifestyle challenges, burnout, stress, questions around gender, sexuality and sexual identity, and more. I also hold a qualification in sensorimotor trauma therapy.
